The Westford Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1982 by community members seeking to provide fire protection and mutual aid to Westford and its surrounding towns. Today WVFD responds to approximately 35 – 45 emergency calls annually. These calls include smoke alarms, car accidents, structure fires, and weather disaster assistance. The team of volunteers hail from Westford, Cambridge, Essex, and Jericho.
Our firefighters train weekly to maintain their skills and increase their knowledge of life saving techniques, allowing them to serve the service area to the best of their availability. The fire station is located at 35 Cambridge Road (connected to the Town Highway Garage) and is home to four pieces of fire and rescue apparatus.
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter, we offer fire station tours for the public and encourage everyone to apply for membership. Visit the “Join” page to learn more.
